Bag a Tagger

Hertfordshire Crimestoppers are happy to support the Police in their Bag a Tagger campaign, aimed at eradicating graffiti in Hertfordshire.

In Hemel Hempstead, there have been hundreds of graffiti 'tags' placed at various locations across the town, with the most prolific ones shown below.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Maghie, who is based at Hemel Hempstead Police station, said: "Graffiti is ugly and affects the quality of life for people who live or work in the town and have to face it on a daily basis. It is not a victimless crime in the sense that it costs the council tax payers a lot of money to clean it up. I am urging anyone who may have any information on who is responsible for these tags to contact police as soon as possible, even if you are responsible, you can hand yourself in and we can discuss a way forward in terms of how to deal with why you are committing this type of offence. There is also a £100 cash reward which leads to the disposal of offenders responsible for these offences."
