Hertfordshire Crimestoppers has received a request from Hertfordshire Constabulary to ask the residents of our county to keep a watchful eye and sensitive ear out for information regarding the storage and/or use of illegal guns across Hertfordshire.

Although Hertfordshire is still a very safe county, information is coming to light that more and more illegal guns are being used and stored here. This is in part due to the success of Operation Trident in London, which, if you visit their website http://www.stoptheguns.org you will see is supported by our colleagues in London Crimestoppers.

Harvey Pitchford, Vice Chair of Hertfordshire Crimestoppers said "Guns can cause fear, pain and damage to people far beyond the immediate victim. Speak to any gunshot victim or gang member under pressure from peers, and you will know that helping to clear our county of guns is the right thing to do".
