Operation Relentless

Hertfordshire Constabulary has launched another major operation in February 2008. This time it's an initiative to pursue and catch burglars and to drive down dwelling burglary in the county which, although was previously dropping, has unfortunately begun to rise since the New Year.

They have asked Hertfordshire Crimestoppers to assist as they need to have as much personal information as possible about burglars or suspected burglars who operate in Hertfordshire.

Harvey Pitchford, Vice Chairman of Hertfordshire Crimestoppers says "As I'm sure regular visitors to our website know, Crimestoppers provides a call centre service to allow people to anonymously give information about crime. We do not ask who you are or where you are from. We do not record the call or have access to your phone number."

Crimestoppers will pass the information onto the police. Hertfordshire Constabulary can then get search warrants, carry out surveillance operations and will have grounds to stop and search the individuals all of which helps gathering evidence to put before the courts.
