Stevenage - Crimestoppers Fearless Awareness Program for Young People
Stevenage has a level of antisocial behaviour and drug related crime associated with the young community. There are initiatives from youth leaders and the Police but Hertfordshire Crimestoppers can add value and support their efforts by informing large numbers of young people on how they can use Crimestoppers Fearless, focusing on areas where it is most needed. This will increase Police Intelligence and help improve the quality of life in the community.
Members of Youth Organisations will be able to spread the word amongst their peers and communities, choosing the most appropriate delivery methods following discussion with Crimestoppers.
The Crimestoppers Team will give presentations to each organisation on the history and workings of Crimestoppers. They will use the Crimestoppers DVD and other materials to promote discussion and encourage them to use their own methods to inform their peers, parents, neighbours and so on. Once the project is running the media including The Comet, Herts Radio and Anglia Television will be contacted and asked to promote the program. A major event will also be organised in Stevenage staffed by the Young Crimestoppers Champions.
The Organisations who have so far signed up to the scheme include Bowes Lyon Youth Club, MBA Youth Clubs, North Herts College, Youth Support Organisations, Schools, Stevenage Police & PCSO's.
