Hertfordshire Crimestoppers Youth Projects

Hertfordshire Crimestoppers run an Awareness Program for Schools and Colleges. If you would like your School or College to take part in one of these programmes please contact us by clicking here.

One of our volunteers will visit your School or College to agree with you the type of Awareness program you would like to run. The activities can range from presentations at assembly, competitions to create posters to advertise Crimestoppers, Crime Scenes and events to promote Crimestoppers and raise money for the charity.The ideas can be generated by you.

The volunteer from Crimestopers will help and support any ideas you have and facilitate any events supporting you with posters, display stands, DVD's that demonstrate the call process and information for distribution on Crimestoppers. The objective of the programme is to make young people in Hertfordshire aware of Crimestoppers and when to use it.

They will be encouraged to speak to their parents, teachers, and police wherever possible. We hope we will contribute in helping them understand their social responsibility for their community.

Remember, a murderer is caught every week in the UK because someone who knows phones Crimestoppers on 0800 555 11

Herts Crimestoppers at University of Hertfordshire Freshers' Fair 2009

{short description of image}

Hertfordshire Crimestoppers were represented at the University of Hertfordshire Students' Union 2009 Freshers' Fair at the Hatfield, College Lane campus on 1st October. The fair was very well organized which was as well, as between 11am and 3pm many hundreds of students passed through the marquee.

We were very impressed and greatly encouraged by these young men and women. We were there to promote knowledge of Crimestoppers amongst the students. Although the university is a relatively safe environment, that knowledge could be useful to them in case they encounter any crime there or elsewhere.

The 'freebie' pens and key rings were quickly snapped up by the early visitors. Later arrivals were pleased to receive literature and cards indicating our charity status, and that by calling 0800 555 111 they can report information about a crime without having to disclose their details or appear in court.

Many students applauded the idea and said they would feel safer.

We were pleased to have had a busy day and consider that for us the fair was a most successful event.
